 Sticky Fingers

sticky fingers … some how managed to magically combine whimsical English folk, West Coast psychedelia, and classic dub reggae and make it all work… surprisingly seductive.” push magazine. The four piece Newtown misfits are mis-spending their youth while we watch. And it’s as colorful as the reivew above suggests: melodic, mega-hectic, psychedelic reggae that’ll have you throwing shapes around rooms with people you barely know, trading flat screens for a ticket to ride. The band’s first EP release in Oct 2010 has been mixed and co-produced by Nick Huggins (whitely).

ROGERTHAT – Use Your Heart
http://music/Rogerthat%20-%20Use%20Your%20Heart.mp3

Use Your Heart is Rogerthat at their quietest. The song is the flipside to the first single Hanging On, taken from their new release The Vanilla Gorillas. While its backbone is a cruisey road/travel tune sing along, be aware of the subversive underbelly.

LUCKY FONZ III – The Painter (publishing)
Listen! to the sureshaker music player

This track is taken from Lucky Fonz III ’s critically acclaimed first album, released in Australia in June of 07. A lot of artists are attracted to Fonz ‘s lyrically adept songs. His material has already been covered by a number of other artists through Australia and the Netherlands – both Romance and Mickey from his self titled album have cover versions viewable on YouTube.

The Painter is a great example of Lucky Fonz III’s hooky way around a tune and incisive lyric writing. The song is included in Quiksilver’s just released Young Guns III and The Two Dans fishing show. It has also attracted quite a bit of alternative radio airplay through his recent visit to Australia. We hope you enjoy it.

We also recommend on this cd: Mickey, Ballad of the Lighthouse, Little Children and the epic live favourite Hallelujah.

BLACK MARKET RHYTHM CO - Lo-Fi Records, Hi-Fi Radio   (publishing)

Low-Fi Records, Hi-Fi Radio is the 11 track debut album from the four piece band. It’s full of catchy tunes that broadly fall under the indie pop, roots, rock/reggae roof.
